Thailand-based CP Meiji Co., Ltd. has an interesting innovative yogurt drink that uses butterfly pea as an ingredient. As consumers increasingly eat with their eyes, food makers are increasingly adding the Instagram-friendly butterfly pea, famed for its colour changing ability, into their drink. The blue hue comes when the dried butterfly pea is added with hot water. The colour changes to purple when lemon is added into the mixture.
The new Meiji Paigen Pro 5 Butterfly Pea and Lime has 0% fat. Launched together with Butterfly Pea and Lime is the Meiji Paigen Pro 5 Passion Fruit. Both yogurt drinks contain Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus to help with the digestive system.
For the summer of 2019, CP Meiji added two limited edition flavoured pasteurised milk inspired by local desserts. The pasteurised milk products are Sago Cantaloupe and Thapthim Krop Young Coconut. Thapthim Krop is made of cubes of water chestnuts in syrup coated with red food coloring. It is usually eaten with coconut milk and ice cubes.
