Oishi has added a new Japanese tea variant to its Oishi Gold label. This time the RTD tea brand is introducing wakoucha (和红茶) or Japanese black tea to Thai consumers.
The history of wakoucha tea in Japan is around 150 years old and was started during the Meiji period. Only several hundred farmers are cultivating wokoucha in Japan and thus making it a specialty tea since it accounts for less than 1% of Japan’s total tea production. Wakoucha has a relatively low astringency.
Oishi Gold Label Wakoucha (400ml) comes in No Sugar and Lemon Delight. The RTD tea also contains 6,000mg of fibre.
