The Coca-Cola Company has launched Authentic Tea House Ceylon Black Tea in Malaysia. The RTD tea is made from hand-plucked Dimbula tea leaves from the highlands of Sri Lanka to produce a rich aroma and unique taste. The RTD tea was earlier launched in Singapore.
Ceylon tea is the latest addition to the unsweetened Authentic Tea House range, which currently has Ayataka Japanese green tea, Yin Hao jasmine green tea and Da Hong Pao oolong tea.
Authentic Tea House Ceylon Black Tea may have a tougher time to appeal to consumers who currently have a more affordable option of drinking Boh or Lipton tea from tea bags. Moreover, Authentic Tea House Ceylon Black Tea does not carry the premium attributes of the other Authentic Tea House RTD teas. The Coca-Cola Co knows this is an issue and that is why it stresses on the provenance of the ceylon tea.
The unsweetened Authentic Tea House Ceylon Black Tea does have the advantage of being sold in a convenient RTD format and can be served chilled targeting health conscious consumers.
