Indonesia’s top packaged bread manufacturer Nippon Indosari Corpindo (Sari Roti) said it will work with well established milk producer as part of its entry into the flavoured milk segment, reported Kontan.
The company plans to enter into the chocolate milk and chocolate spread segments to reduce the current reliance on packaged bread.
At the moment, Sari Roti has a production capacity of 5.1 million breads per day with a distribution spanning 34 provinces. Its latest factory in Pekanbaru will be completed at the end of 2022, bringing the number of manufacturing plants to 15.
In neighbouring Malaysia, the top bread producer there Gardenia has diversified into different segments including into spread, noodle and most recently into instant noodle.
