TCP has unveiled its latest FarmZaa (ฟาร์มซ่า) Calamansi Soda at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2023. FarmZaa is a new brand that supports community products and Thai farmers to grow sustainably. The pilot product is based on a plant that grows in Thailand’s Chanthaburi province. It is an invigorating soda beverage with a scent of honey, 200% Vitamin C, and no added sugar.
According to TCP, the company sources its calamansi from farmers in Chanthaburi, which is known for its calamansi or “Mapeed”. TCP is selling FarmZaa exclusively online to test the market. There is a plan to scale up production if the product is well received.
FarmZaa is an interesting example of how large corporation can help local farmers through direct sourcing and adding value to the ingredients. TCP can replicate the same concept with other Thai ingredients to create a range of beverages made from local produce.
From there, TCP could even explore the concept of upcycling by reusing food byproducts and turning them into new edible products. Such as move can further improve TCP’s image as an ethical and sustainable company.
