Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) has added the solar emblem on its iconic 100PLUS sports drink.
Since 2020, F&N has progressively reduced its reliance on fossil fuels by installing one of Malaysia’s largest rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at its facilities. With 11,000 solar panels at its Shah Alam plant, the generated solar energy now accounts for more than half of the electricity demand for producing 100PLUS, Malaysia’s No. 1 Isotonic beverage. Following this milestone, 100PLUS will carry the solar emblem across its packaging.
The adding of the solar emblem, which says ‘Partially produced by solar energy’, is a strong demonstration of F&N’s commitment to sustainability. The company is also setting the standard on sustainability, which could spark other players to become creative with their approaches to showcasing their sustainability initiatives.
