The Putrajaya Chilli Farm is the latest farm to join the Nestlé Chilli Club programme and is a collaboration between Nestlé Products Sdn Bhd and Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan Kuala Langat (PPK Kuala Langat).
Sitting on 10 acres of land with a production capacity of 80 tonnes of chilli each season, the Putrajaya Chilli Farm is the largest farm registered with the Nestlé Chilli Club to date.
The farm is currently tended to by 20 local farmers, approximately half of whom just started their first season of chilli farming, while the other half are in their second farming season.
The farm employs precision agriculture and standardises the amount of water delivered to each chilli plant, reducing water wastage by 50% as compared to usual water sprays.
Chilli freshness is ensured as the chillies are sent to the factory for processing within 72 hours upon destalking.

About The Nestlé Chilli Club (NCC)
The Nestlé Chilli Club (NCC) was established in 1995 to support local chilli farmers’ business growth, uplift their livelihoods, and ensure a responsibly-sourced supply of fresh chillies for the production of MAGGI Chilli Sauce.
The NCC collaborates with the local chilli farmers through a contract farming scheme between Nestlé Agricultural Services Department and local farmers’ association boards, Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan Bukit Awang (PPK Bukit Awang) and Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan Kuala Langat (PPK Kuala Langat). The contract farming scheme protects the farmers’ livelihoods by offering a sell-back price throughout the contract period that is not impacted by the open market price.
Over the years, the NCC has expanded from its roots in Kelantan to other parts of the country including Terengganu and more recently, Selangor.
Since 1995, the NCC programme has uplifted over 105 local farmers. The programme currently partners with 70 local farmers across Kelantan, Terengganu and Selangor.
About MAGGI Chilli Sauces
In 1969, the familiar MAGGI red sauces – Tomato Ketchup and Chilli Sauce were first produced and bottled in Malaysia. For many generations, MAGGI Chilli Sauce has won the hearts and tastebuds of Malaysians with its fresh, “pedas-pedas manis” taste.
MAGGI Chilli Sauce is made with the goodness of the freshest, highest quality chillies. Approximately 60% of fresh chillies used in the production of MAGGI Chilli Sauce are sourced from the Nestlé Chilli Club farms around Malaysia.
In order to ensure that consumers enjoy the most delicious product possible, fresh chillies from the local farms are sent to the factory within 72 hours after being destalked for optimal freshness. By sourcing from local farmers, the time required to transport the fresh chillies to the factory is reduced compared to internationally imported ones.
