The birthday celebrations at restaurants are part of McDonald’s Community Month every October, bringing smiles to children across the nation.
KUALA LUMPUR, 21 OCTOBER 2024 – As part of McDonald’s Community Month this year, McDonald’s Malaysia is extending its heartwarming efforts by hosting birthday celebrations for children from orphanages, either at the restaurant or at their homes. These annual initiatives aim to spread joy to children from over 400 orphanages nationwide throughout the month of October.
Today, McDonald’s Malaysia hosted a special birthday celebration at McDonald’s Mutiara Damansara DT for nearly 70 children. The event was filled with exciting games, delicious food, and fun activities, creating cherished memories in line with McDonald’s commitment to bringing joy and making every child feel special.
“At McDonald’s Malaysia, we believe that every child deserves a birthday celebration. Our aim has always been to not only provide delicious meals but to also be a caring neighbor, giving back to the communities we operate in and ensuring no one is left behind,” said Dato’ Haji Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner of McDonald’s Malaysia. “By hosting these birthday celebrations, both at orphanages and in our restaurants, we hope to create moments of happiness for the children, helping them feel cherished and appreciated.”
In addition to the celebrations, McDonald’s Malaysia made cash donations to help improve the comfort and well-being of children in these selected orphanages.
This initiative is part of Program Komuniti @ McDonald’s & RMHC, which oversees all of McDonald’s Malaysia’s community outreach activities. Every year, McDonald’s Malaysia carries out over 19,000 community initiatives, including this longstanding tradition of bringing joy to orphans throughout October, an initiative that began in 2017.
