- Eternal Joy Yee Sang, a fun spin on the traditional Cantonese dish Yee Sang, is believed to have been introduced in Malaysia in the 1950s. It symbolises unity, prosperity, and abundance as everyone gathers around the table to ‘toss good fortune’, throwing the salad as high as possible before eating it. This iconic dish is made even more flavourful with a spicy kick from MAGGI® SYIOK Cili Ala Kampung Goreng, a crowd favourite from the latest MAGGI® SYIOK range, with the noodles representing longevity–lending an accessible fusion take to this beloved tradition. A local twist on Malaysians’ favourite flavours, the MAGGI® SYIOK range is available in two soup-based varieties – the robust Kari KAW, the savoury and aromatic Tom Yum KAW, as well as two dry noodle varieties – the zesty Cili Ala Kampung and the aspirational Aglio Olio.[1]
- The golden hue of pumpkin represents prosperity and abundance, while the vibrant green of broccoli symbolises happiness, health, and liveliness. The inclusion of pumpkin in festive dishes is believed to bring luck to descendants, ensuring a glorious and enchanted future. Paired with scallops that signify togetherness, this wholesome dish Golden Abundance Pumpkin with Broccoli and Scallops is elevated with MAGGI® Oyster Sauce and MAGGI® Chicken Stock Cube, creating a delicious harmony of flavours perfect for family gatherings.
- Fish, or ‘yu’ in Chinese, is a homonym for surplus. The fish is often served whole, as the head and tail signify a beginning and an end and thus represent completeness. Often served as the last dish, it is symbolic of the host wishing his/her guests’ continual abundance. This modernized dish Auspicious Steamed Grouper is perfected with the rich umami and savoury depth of MAGGI®’s sauces and seasonings, ensuring a memorable centrepiece for the reunion table that is made more convenient.
