Petrol station has become the latest channel tapped by food manufacturers to distribute their foodstuffs to the public. In the Philippines, San Miguel-owned San Miguel Food and Beverage announced on 17 April 2020 that Magnolia Chicken and Purefoods Meat Products are available at selected Petron stations Monday to Saturday from 7.30am to 4.30pm. Petron is owned by San Miguel Corp.
San Miguel’s Manukang Bayan on Wheels program is aimed at widening food availability and accessibility in Metro Manila. The mobile stores sell both branded and non-branded meats. The conglomerate is teaming up with the Department of Agriculture to help farmers afloat with plans to buy more agricultural produce in order to protect the livelihood of the farmers and make their produce available to consumers in the cities.
