The Pizza Company, the largest pizza chain in Thailand, has piloted drone delivery of pizza for the first time in the country. According to Minor Food Group Public Company Limited, “the goal is to deliver efficiently and rapidly to customers covering a wider area even during peak traffic hours.”
The pizza chain is said it is “proactively researching and preparing for the best delivery experience to our customers. This includes, but is not limited to, studying the relevant laws and regulations around customer privacy and safety, and we are also running tests such as operational control of drones during varying weather conditions.”
Drone delivery of food will be a game changer for the foodservice industry but regulation will be a barrier for now.
