Osotspa, the producer of M-150 energy drink and C-Vitt vitamin drink, announced its total revenue from beverage sales during the third quarter of 2021 fell 7.6% year-on-year with a 11.1% year-on-year decline in domestic beverage sales offset by a 16.4% year-on-year rise in international sales.
Third quarter 2021 energy drinks market contracted by -16.3% year-on-year. Osotspa demonstrated strong market leadership position in the third quarter of 2021 maintaining number 1 market share of 54.5% in energy drinks market.
Even though third quarter 2021 functional drinks market declined 18.4% year-on-year, the vitamin C subsegment continued to grow at 6.1% year-on-year. Osotspa using C-Vitt as a spearhead driving the overall growth and reached the all-time high market share of 39.8% (+310 bps year-on-year) in the total functional drinks market.
Towards COVID-19 recovery, Osotspa expanded the distribution of C-Vitt 1-litre big pack in 7-Eleven, relaunched Calpis Lacto Soda with Peach Sakura flavor limited edition, and introduced Slimma in a jelly pack format.
During the first nine months of 2021, energy drinks market declined 6.7% year-on-year from the intensified COVID-19 resurgence in the third quarter of 2021. During the first nine months of 2021, domestic beverage sales were driven by growth on functional drinks portfolio driven by both C-Vitt and Yanhee vitamin B water distribution offset with the softened energy drinks sales.
