URC Snack Foods (M), which produces Jack ‘n Jill snacks, has launched a new locally-inspired potato chips. The new Jack ‘n Jill Asam Pedas or Assam Fish flavour is based on the local sour and spicy fish dish. Asam pedas is believed to come from Minangkabau cuisine of West Sumatra and is popular in Malaysia too.
The new Jack ‘n Jill Asam Pedas is available at 7-Eleven Malaysia for a price of RM 3.80 per pack.
