In conjunction with the Parents’ Day celebrations in May and June, Signature Market has launched a campaign offering advice and tools to Malaysians planning their second chapter.
Kuala Lumpur, 3 May 2024 — This year, to further showcase the brand’s commitment to community building across all demographics, Signature Market has launched a Parents’ Day campaign targeted towards helping Malaysians who are planning for their retirement or are looking for ways to stay healthy and maintain their independence post-retirement. In addition to a specially curated kit designed to give older parents the tools needed to help them kickstart their next chapter to its full potential, the brand also hosted a day of sharing featuring medical experts, financial wellness experts, and key community members for its customers.
The world is currently witnessing an ever-growing aging population and Malaysia is no stranger to this phenomenon. According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia, the country saw an increase of 0.2% in the 65 years and above age group from 2022 to 2023, encompassing roughly 2.5 million people. And as society continues to age, the need for our elders to adopt an enriched, purpose-driven approach to the golden years becomes even more essential.
As a way to bridge the gap between experts and the community, Signature Market hosted an event on 27 April 2024, Craft One’s Second Life Story, featuring profound insights from wellness entrepreneurs, aged-care professionals, and medical specialists — shedding light on transforming retirement into a dynamic period of personal and social growth. During the event, guests heard speeches from Dr. Ong Shiau Ying, Medical Director and Founder of Perfect Healthcare, Dr. Yek Chu Jie, Medical Officer of Perfect Healthcare Clinic, and Jenny Lim, Resource & Training Manager of Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM). In addition to the speakers, guests were also able to hear from Nancee Vincent, a seasoned wellness entrepreneur, and Michael Yong, an aged-care specialist in the panel discussion.
Covering topics ranging from preventing osteoporosis, the importance of oral health for general well-being, and understanding dementia, guests were able to learn about the different health and wellness factors that come into play when ageing. The guest medical experts also taught guests how to craft a lifestyle that can give them the best quality of life in their second chapter through a combination of mental, physical, and even financial wellness.
Aside from the community event, Signature Market also introduced the “Blooming Sunshine Gift Box” in conjunction with Parents’ Month — offering more than just a collection of items but also an invitation for everyone to actively practise self-love through nurturing the mind, body, and spirit. Priced at RM100, each gift box includes 15 thoughtfully curated items from Signature Market, Plant Origins, Blackmores, Healthland, iQiyi, ecoBrown, Beacon Mart, Silky Professional and the campaign’s official event partner, PERFECT Healthcare — united in their commitment to promoting holistic health.
For this campaign, Signature Market also collaborated with the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) — a vital part of the “Blooming Sunshine Gift Box” initiative highlighting the brand’s dedication to enriching lives.
“This partnership aims to provide support to those affected by Alzheimer’s while also increasing public awareness about the disease and the lifestyle choices that can help mitigate its risk. Research indicates that maintaining an active lifestyle and a healthy body weight can significantly reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and other cognitive disorders. Our support for ADFM reflects a broader commitment: motivating the public to take proactive steps towards crafting a fulfilling and independent second life by taking control of their health and wellness,” said Edwin Wang, CEO and Co-Founder of Signature Market.
Every purchase of a “Blooming Sunshine Gift Box” not only contributes to ADFM’s crucial efforts but also encourages buyers to adopt self-care practices that promote long-term wellness.
