PT Comextra Majora, a leading exporter of cocoa and cashew kernels from Sulawesi, Indonesia, has introduced Plantiq, a new plant-based milk alternative made from cashews. Plantiq is available in two flavours: original and chocolate.
Plantiq is a shelf-stable cashew milk containing 17% cashew content and is a source of vitamins A, B complex, C, D, E and K and calcium and phosphorus, providing 15%-45% of daily needs.
While there is another competing cashew milk Arummi that comes in a 1L pack, Plantiq is packaged in 200ml bottles, making it ideal for quick and easy consumption. On the official store, each bottle of Plantiq is priced at IDR 16,500 (USD 1), which is at the higher end compared to other dairy-based UHT milk.
Indonesia is one of top 10 countries that produce cashew nuts globally but most of its cashew crop is exported as raw cashew nut. Plantiq is a prime example of how cashew can be transformed into a value-added product.
