General Beverage Co Ltd, a leading Thai drinks maker, has clarified on its if溢福 brand‘s Chinese Weibo account that it does not produce or sell any alcoholic beverages in China. While the company did not explicitly state the reason for the announcement, it appears that a Chinese company has launched alcoholic drinks using the “IF” brand.
The IF branded alcoholic drink (Coconut Fresh Wine, Lemon Fresh Wine, and Cherry Fresh Wine) utilises a logo similar to General Beverage’s IF brand, potentially causing consumer confusion. In China, General Beverage sells only juices, tea drinks, oat milk and foods under the if溢福 brand.
