Wide Faith Foods reduces environmental impact with new Rice Chippies packaging

Thailand-based Wide Faith Foods, the maker of Rice Chippies, is now using 100% recyclable packaging for the crispy rice snack made from Thai rice. The move helps to reduce plastic waste from snack packaging and lessens environmental impact.

The company uses an innovative packaging production that utilises only polypropylene (PP) plastic, without mixing other types of plastic. This simplifies recycling, reduces complexity and costs in sorting materials, and increases efficiency. PP plastic is a thermoplastic that can be repeatedly melted and remolded without affecting its quality.

Rice Chippies with the recyclable packaging will be available in Thailand from January 2025 onwards, in a 50-gram size, priced at THB 29. Rice Chippes are available in four flavours namely BBQ, Sour Cream & Onion, Sea Salt and Cheese.
