Today, F&NHB is present in 89 countries and continues to evolve its business through strategic acquisitions and expanding its footprint across the food and beverages value chain. Fortified by the recent integration of Sri Nona and Cocoaland products into its portfolio, the Halal Packaged Food sector is a promising pillar of growth for F&NHB. This move enables F&NHB to cater to diverse tastes and preferences, further solidifying its position as the market leader.

As the Group continue its growth journey, F&NHB’s commitment to sustainability takes centre stage as it shapes the landscape of Malaysia’s future.

Underlining this commitment, Lim shared that the Group is actively developing the largest integrated dairy farm in Malaysia, spanning over 2,726 hectares in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, that will produce 100 million litres of fresh milk annually in Phase 1 for local and international markets, fulfilling F&NHB’s aspiration to put fresh milk into every home in Malaysia.

Beyond the dairy farm, F&NHB’s plans for feed crop farming within the facility align with the government’s goal of reducing the nation’s dependence on imported feed. The farm will also be designed around sustainable agriculture, circular economy practices, and green technology.

Since 2020, F&N has progressively reduced its reliance on fossil fuels by installing one of Malaysia’s largest rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at its facilities. With 11,000 solar panels at its Shah Alam plant, the generated solar energy now accounts for more than half of the electricity demand for producing 100PLUS, Malaysia’s No. 1 Isotonic beverage. Following this milestone, 100PLUS will carry the “Solar” emblem across its packaging.

Apart from renewable energy, F&N is committed to reducing its environmental impact throughout its value chain. This includes a roadmap to use 100% RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil by 2025 and enhancing the circularity of its product packaging. For 2023, the Group will use 60% Certified Sustainable Palm Oil and 40% RSPO credits.  Meanwhile, 25% of its beverage and dairy packaging is sourced from recycled material. F&N is also a long-time champion of recycling awareness among school children through the F&N School Recycling Programme involving 1,300 schools nationwide.

F&NHB’s dedication to sustainability has positioned F&NHB in the global top 1 percentile of its Food and Beverage Supersector for FTSE4GOOD ESG score in the June 2023 review by Bursa Malaysia, a testament to the company’s Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

Pos Malaysia Marks Penang Hill Railway Centenary Celebration with Launch of Commemorative Stamps & First Day Cover

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 August 2023 – Pos Malaysia Berhad (“Pos Malaysia” or the “Group”), Malaysia’s postal and parcel service provider in collaboration with Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) launched Commemorative Stamps and First Day Cover to mark the Penang Hill Railway Centenary Celebration.

The celebration signifies a major milestone for the Penang Hill Funicular. Since its inception on 21 October 1923, this unique mode of transportation has welcomed over 47 million visitors, comprising both local and international tourists, as well as residents and nearby communities, to experience the charm of Penang Hill. Distinguished as being the only one of its kind in both Malaysia and Southeast Asia, the Penang Hill Funicular stands as a unique landmark of distinction.

YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow, the Chief Minister of Penang remarked, “The celebration has been heightened through a remarkable collaboration between PHC and Pos Malaysia, dedicated to preserving our heritage and sharing the story through the art of philately. The special edition Commemorative Stamps and First Day Cover of Penang Hill Railway, stands as one of the main highlights of this centenary celebration.”

“This collection proudly displays a beautiful design and represents a remarkable set of items, including three differently designed funicular stamps, a first-day cover, a miniature sheet, a postcard, and a folder. It captures and symbolises the significant moments of the Penang Hill Railway’s century-long journey,” he said.

The main artwork of the stamps features the three distinctive generations of the funicular: the firstgeneration wooden funicular, which operated from 1923 to 1977; the red and white secondgeneration funicular operated from 1977 to 2010; and the single-track third-generation funicular, which has been running since 2011 until now.

The limited-edition Commemorative Stamps and First Day Cover are available online and at selected post offices throughout Malaysia from 22 August 2023 onwards at a price of RM64.20 for each complete set. The items available consist of:

Khong Guan gives the traditional Semprong an upgrade

PT Khong Guan Biscuit Factory Indonesia has launched Semprong Wijen, a new variantion of Semprong that comes in a stick format and incorporates sesame seeds. Semprong is a traditional wafer snack made by clasping egg batter using an iron mold (waffle iron) which is heated up on a charcoal stove. Kuih Semprong is also known as Kuih Kapit or Kuih Sepit in some regions.
